To do immediately :

Find out what to do first in the event of an damage.

  • Take photos to prove the damage to be declared.
  • Secure your home : ensure that no further damage can occur (items on the verge of collapse)
  • Protect the members of the household : if your home is still habitable, pay attention to toxic fumes and damaged objects.

⛔️ Don'ts :

  • Do not clean, store and repair everything : if you erase all traces of the incident before the expert's visit, it will be impossible to establish the amount of the damage!
  • Do not get rid of damaged property
  • Don't have a repair estimate drawn up : your advisor will set up with you from your declaration the compensation solution that is best suited to your situation

To be done as soon as possible :

  • Declare your fire incident (within 5 days). The supporting documents (including the amicable report) may be sent to us as a second step.
  • Gather the elements that will facilitate your immediate support from your declaration :

   Damaged property

   Damage to your home (wall or floor covering)

   All the elements proving the property and the value of the damaged property : invoices, photos, testimonials, appraisals... a certificate of ownership if the incident has seriously damaged, real estate of which you are the owner (to be obtained from your notary)

Theft

To do immediately :

  • File a complaint with the gendarmerie or police within 24 hours of the theft.
  • Secure access to your property that has been damaged
  • Collect testimonials if possible
  • In case of theft of means of payment, liaise directly with your bank
  • Keep property that has been damaged during the theft for the appraisal

  • Do not get rid of damaged property
  • Don't have a repair estimate drawn up : your advisor will set up with you from your declaration the compensation solution that is best suited to your situation

To be done as soon as possible

Declare the theft (within 5 days) with your insurer.

Gather the elements that will facilitate your immediate support from your declaration :

   Damaged property

   Damage to your home (forced locks, broken windows, broken doors). 

   All the supporting documents proving the property and the value of the damaged property: invoices, photos, testimonials, appraisals... a certificate of ownership if the incident has seriously damaged real estate of which you are the owner (to be obtained from your notary)

  • Close all water inlets
  • Turn off the electricity
  • Alert your neighbours and/or your caretaker
  • Take photos of the occasional damage
  • Air the flooded room to allow the damaged goods to dry

Gather the elements that will facilitate your immediate support from your declaration:

   Damaged property

   Any damage to your home (wall or floor covering)

   All the elements proving the property and the value of the damaged property: invoices, photos, testimonials, appraisals... a certificate of ownership if the incident has seriously damaged real estate of which you are the owner (to be obtained from your notary)

   The amicable report(s) filled in together with third parties (neighbours, co-owners, etc.). If you are at the origin of the claim and several dwellings are affected, complete an amicable report with each third party.

To be done immediately :

  • Keep informed of the development of the situation (radio, mobile information., etc.)

  • If you notice that some trees or branches may fall, have them cut by a professional.

  • Be prepared for possible secondary disasters (floods, collapses, landslides, etc.)

  • Stay safe, in a place that is not damaged or that is not likely to be

  • Wait for instructions from the authorities before moving

⛔️ Don'ts

  • Do not climb on roofs and call on firefighters or professionals to cover them.

  • Don't touch electrical wires that have fallen to the ground.

  • Do not consume food from the refrigerator and freezer in the event of an electricity cut for more than 24 hours.
